I am going for walks a few times a day and my nurse is trying to find time to take me outside to the healing garden. It's just so busy here.
Looks like I'll be getting discharged tomorrow. Then in 4-6 weeks start physical therapy and hopefully in 3 to 4 months I can start to feel a little normal again.
So what they did was removed the manubrium bone, put mesh and medical cement in its place and then moved my pectoral muscles. Yup, moved my pectoral muscles after they detached the muscle from my manubrium bone. And that's why I'll need physical therapy.
Both my surgeons said I'm healing well. It's just going to take a while to feel like me again.
My mother is amazing. She has been here taking care of me everyday just like she always has and always does. I couldn't imagine going through any of this journey without her!
Brittany, my nurse, is ready to take me outside for a walk in the healing garden. I'll update again later.
