December 1, 2012 was the day that led up to the best day of Frank and my life. A friend of mine decided to go to The Cadillac Ranch where we met Frank Ganz who bought us a shot. Ganz is a friend of Frank's but Frank wasn't at the Cadillac Ranch when Ganz and his friend bought us our shots. A little while later, standing at the bar I saw Frank for the 1st time. When I first noticed him, I thought he was so handsome and although it's unlike me to just say hello to a stranger, it came out so easily but his response wasn't quite the same. He looked at me like, "Who are you" with the "Frank" look and looked away, never saying anything. His reaction to me was just his shyness because for the rest of the night, he only had eyes for me. It was love at first site, soul mates finally connecting and Dad and MomMom looking down on us from Heaven, smiling having brought us together, finally. It took us a while to meet, maybe a little too long but we were ready to meet and spend our lives together. I have been told I am picky, and it had become very clear to me why I had been so picky all those years. And although I started to wonder myself if I was ever going to meet my love or live my life single forever, Frank Takacs was worth the wait and funny date stories I have to share.
On November 24, 2013, he took me on a date to Ola Restaurant. We had a great day and a wonderful dinner. When we got home, he began telling me how wonderful I am, how beautiful I am, how I am his best friend and he wants to spend forever with me. These are all things he tells me all the time so it didn't lead me to wonder where he was going with this. And then it happened, he asked me to spend forever with him. Of course, I said yes to marrying the man I always imagined marrying.
After 1 week of chemo, with no planning, just deciding it was the day, May 21, 2014, we said "I Do." Frank Ganz who bought me my shot back on December 1, 2012 and introduced us, married us under our tree in our backyard. We made our dreams come true and the best day of our life. What an incredible moment to marry and vow to love each other and spend forever and eternity together.
On May 22nd my nurse at chemo went out and bought us a cake for our wedding. This was our 1st cake and when all the nurses brought it to us, they played here comes the bride. We love Nurse Pamela, she's the best.
It was time for our next celebration. We had our 2nd cake at a family gathering on my side of the family where we took the opportunity to announce we had been married. My mom surprised us with a cake for us all to celebrate.
Not to worry though, in a year or so we'll have a double celebration renewing our vows with our family and friends and winning this fight being cancer free!!
